These micrometer sized fibers form tortuous channels for the airflow, forcing solid particles and liquid droplets to be captured by the ultrafine fibers through three filtering mechanisms: inertial collision, diffusion interception, and direct interception. The surface tension of the liquid causes small droplets to coalesce into larger droplets, which settle to the bottom of the container due to gravity.
The glass fiber coalescing filter element is made of high-density gradient glass fiber and designed as a single piece tube structure to reduce damage and leakage. The surface of the filter element is treated with hydrophobic and oleophobic materials, which can meet various precision level requirements.
Polyester fiber coalescing filter cartridge material is usually made of synthetic polyester fiber, which has good compatibility with various fluids. The filter element is made of a multi-layer spiral structure, with fibers of different properties used in each layer. The desired filtration accuracy is achieved by controlling parameters such as the shape, size, thickness, and density of each fiber layer.
The coalescing filter mainly uses surface treated glass fiber or polyester fiber as the coalescing medium. The structure of the filter material is specially designed to make the filter medium have good coalescing performance. The filtering accuracy can reach 0.1 μ m.

Chemical filters: activated carbon filter

1. Description air filter :
     Chemical filters can remove chemical pollutants in the air, such as: odor, ammonia, sulfur dioxide, VOCS (volatile organic compounds), etc., to meet the requirements of industrial environment, environmental protection and civil.
2. Adsorption capacity:
    For a certain gas, the maximum amount of activated carbon can be adsorbed per unit mass is called "adsorption capacity". Different activated carbon materials or adsorption of different gases, adsorption capacity is different. In order to determine the adsorption capacity of the filter, we should understand: pollutant type, pollutant concentration, air flow temperature, relative humidity.

3. Filter Rate:
    
The filtration rate refers to the airflow speed through the surface of the adsorbed material. Under the condition of specific filter structure, the filter speed is low, the contact time between gas and activated carbon is long, and the adsorption efficiency is high. When the user uses the activated carbon filter, the filter speed (that is, the filter air volume) should be reasonably selected.

4. Service life:
    In use, the adsorption efficiency of activated carbon is continuously reduced, and when the concentration of harmful gases downstream of the filter reaches the maximum allowable value, the filter needs to be replaced. The service life of activated carbon filter is related to many factors, such as pollutant concentration, temperature, humidity, filter air volume, and activated carbon. In the case of other factors, the amount of activated carbon determines the service life of the filter.

5. Filter replacement:
    Monitoring the pollutant concentration changes before and after the filter can determine whether the filter should be replaced. But at present, there is no simple and practical monitoring means in China. Therefore, the user should determine the service life of the activated carbon filter according to the specified cycle or by experience.
